It can describe something happening right now, or the way someone does something actively. It also serves as a short, enthusiastic nod when you agree. For example, 'I thought the meeting was tomorrow, but actually it's today,' or 'She actually enjoys broccoli.' The word slips into sentences to set the record straight and to affirm a point, all while sounding politely insistent.
