yeasty

/ˈjiːsti/ adj B1, B2

silly and not serious

Word Origin Yeasty is yeast + the adjective suffix -y, meaning 'full of yeast' or 'frothy'. Yeast itself comes from Old English gist, from PIE *yes- 'to boil, foam, bubble' — so yeast is literally the 'bubbling stuff'. The same root gives us the word 'geyser' (via Old Norse). You can almost see the foam rising in a yeasty brew.
