concreteness

/ˈkɑnkɹitnəs/ noun

The state of being concrete.

Word Origin Concreteness is the quality of being concrete — literally 'grown together.' From Latin crescere 'to grow,' which gives us create (to make grow), increase (grow in), decrease (grow down), and crescent (growing moon). Concrete originally meant 'solidified, grown together' as opposed to abstract. The PIE root *ker- 'to grow' also appears in 'cereal' and 'create.'
