/ˈfɫæʃi/ adj B1**Flashy** means showy and visually impressive, the kind of thing that shouts for attention like a neon sign at midnight. It can also describe water that jumps up and down in sudden bursts, as in a flash flood. When something flashes repeatedly, it’s flashy too. In slang, a person who’s a little tipsy might be called flashy. All four senses share the common thread of bright, sudden, eye‑catching behavior.
