emotionalist

/ˈiˌmoʊʃənəɫɪst/ noun

Someone whose thoughts and actions are governed by their emotions rather than by logic.

Word Origin Emotion comes from Latin emovere 'to move out, stir up', from ex- 'out' + movere 'to move'. So an emotion is something that moves you out of your calm state. Emotionalist is someone who is all about emotions, literally 'one who is moved out'. The same root movere gives us move, motor, motive, and mobile. The PIE root *meue- means 'to push away'.
