undistinguishing

/ʌndɪstˈɪŋɡwɪʃɪŋ/ adj

Failing to distinguish; undiscerning.

Word Origin Distinguish comes from Latin distinguere 'to separate, set apart' — literally 'to prick apart' (from *streg- perhaps related to sting?). Undistinguishing means not making distinctions, not separating. The root also gives distinct, distinction, and extinct (from ex- + stinguere, to quench). The un- prefix negates the present participle. So undistinguishing is not seeing differences.
