humanlike

/hjˈumənlˌaɪk/ adj

Having characteristics of a human.

Word Origin Human comes from Latin humanus, related to homo 'man', both from the PIE root *dhghem- 'earth' (humans as earthlings). Like is from Proto-Germanic *līkam 'body, form' — so humanlike means having the form of a human. The same root gives us likeness, likewise, and the suffix -like in childlike, lifelike.
