Word Origin Revisable from Latin re- 'again' and videre 'to see' — literally 'able to be seen again.' The -able suffix from Latin -abilis means 'capable of.' So a revisable document is one you can look at again and change. The same root gives us revise, revision, visible, and visit. The re- prefix implies a return to something, as in redo, rethink.
