apparitional

/ˌæpɚɹˈɪʃənəl/ adj

Of or pertaining to an apparition or apparitions

Word Origin From Latin parere 'to come forth, appear' — the same root that gives us appear, apparent, and transparent (appearing through). An apparition is something that appears, often unexpectedly. The ad- prefix (assimilated to ap-) intensifies it: something coming forth toward you. The PIE root *pere- means 'to bring forth, produce,' which also gives us parent (one who brings forth children) and parturition (childbirth). So apparitional literally means 'pertaining to something that appears.'
