infuriation

/eɪʃən/ noun

Extreme anger.

Word Origin From Latin in- 'into' and furia 'fury' — literally 'putting into a fury.' Infuriation is the state of being enraged. The root furia also gives us furious and fury itself. The -ation suffix turns the verb infuriate into a noun. So when you're infuriated, you're filled with the spirit of the Furies, the avenging goddesses of Roman myth.
