flamboyancy

/flˈæmbɔɪənsi/ noun

The condition of being flamboyant.

Word Origin From French flamboyant, literally 'flaming,' from Latin flamma. The word originally described the flamelike curves in Gothic architecture before it came to mean showy or ostentatious. Flamboyancy is the noun for that dazzling quality. The same root gives us flame, inflame, and even flamingo (from the bird's flame-colored plumage). The PIE *bhel- also gives us blue and blond — all from brightness.
