uncommonly

/ˌənˈkɑmənɫi/ adv

To an uncommon degree; unusually or extremely.

Word Origin Common comes from Latin communis 'shared by all', from com- 'together' + munus 'duty, service' (PIE *mei- 'change, exchange'). Uncommon is the negative with un-, and -ly makes it an adverb. The root munus also gives us municipal, communicate, and immune (originally exempt from public service). So uncommonly means not in the usual shared way.
