objectiveness

/əbˈdʒɛktɪvnəs/ noun

The characteristic of being objective; neutrality.

Word Origin From Latin ob- 'toward' and iacere 'to throw' — literally 'thrown toward.' The word 'object' originally meant something thrown in the way, an obstacle. From that, 'objective' came to mean something external, factual, not influenced by personal feelings, and objectiveness is the quality of that. The same root iacere gives us project (thrown forward), reject (thrown back), inject (thrown in), eject (thrown out), and subject (thrown under).
