chronologic

/kɹˌɑnəlˈɑdʒɪk/ adj

Synonym of chronological.

Word Origin A compound of Greek khronos 'time' and logos 'word, discourse' — so chronologic is literally 'the logic of time,' arranging events in time order. The same roots give us chronic (lasting over time), synchronize (make time together), and anachronism (something out of its time). The -ic suffix turns it into an adjective. The logos part also gives us logic itself.
