advisedly

/ædˈvaɪzədɫi/, /ədˈvaɪzədɫi/ adv B2

after careful thought; deliberately

Word Origin From Latin videre 'to see' with ad- 'to' — advisedly means 'in a manner that has been seen to,' i.e., with careful consideration. The past participle advised (having been advised) plus -ly. The same root gives us advise, advice, vision, and even provide (to see ahead). The PIE root *weid- is the source of wise and wisdom — seeing is knowing.
