wavelike

/wˈeɪvlaɪk/ adj

Having some properties or characteristics of a wave; used especially of physical particles.

Word Origin Wave comes from Old English wǣg 'wave, billow,' from PIE *wegh- 'to move, carry' — the same root as way, weigh, and vehicle (something that carries). Wavelike simply means 'like a wave,' with the Old English suffix -like (from gelīc 'similar'). The same -like gives us childlike, lifelike, and dreamlike.
