Not eloquent

Word Origin 'Eloquent' is from Latin 'e-' (out) + 'loqui' (speak) — speaking out fluently. 'Ineloquent' is the opposite: not speaking out well, lacking fluency. The root 'loqui' is a chatterbox: it gives us 'loquacious' (talkative), 'soliloquy' (speaking alone), 'ventriloquist' (belly speaker), and 'circumlocution' (talking around). So ineloquent is literally 'not speaking out.'
