dyspepsia

/dɪspˈɛpsiə/ noun C1

indigestion

Word Origin Dyspepsia is literally 'bad digestion' — from Greek dys- 'bad' and peptein 'to cook, digest.' The idea is your stomach isn't cooking food properly. The root peptein is related to cook and kitchen (via PIE *pekw-), and also gives us peptic, pepsin, and even concoct (cook together). So dyspepsia is when your internal cooking goes wrong.
