disappointedly

/ˌdɪsəˈpɔɪnɪdli/ adv

In a disappointed manner.

Word Origin Disappointedly comes from disappoint, which is dis- (reversal) + appoint. Appoint comes from Latin appunctare 'to bring to a point,' from ad- 'to' and punctum 'point,' from pungere 'to prick.' So originally, to appoint was to settle a matter precisely, like pricking a point on a map. Disappoint then meant to undo that settlement, to fail to keep an appointment. The prick of disappointment is that sharp sting when expectations are punctured. The same root gives us acupuncture, puncture, and point.
