sublimely

/səˈbɫaɪmli/ adv

In a sublime manner.

Word Origin Sublime comes from Latin sublimis 'uplifted, high, lofty,' possibly from sub- 'up to' + limen 'threshold' — so 'up to the lintel,' i.e., raised high. Sublimely means in a lofty, awe-inspiring manner. The same root limen gives us subliminal (below the threshold), eliminate (to throw out of the threshold), and preliminary (before the threshold). So sublime is literally 'up to the doorframe.'
