unsubtly

/ʌnsˈʌɾəli/ adv

In an unsubtle manner.

Word Origin The root 'subtilis' originally meant 'finely woven' — from PIE *teks-, the same root that gives us 'textile' and 'texture'. So 'subtle' literally means something woven so finely it's almost imperceptible. Add 'un-' and '-ly', and 'unsubtly' is doing something with all the delicacy of a sledgehammer. The same weaving root also gives us 'context' (woven together) and 'architect' (master builder, literally 'chief weaver').
