resample

/ɹᵻsˈæmpəl/ verb

To sample again; to repeat sampling

Word Origin 'Sample' is a shortening of 'example', from Latin 'exemplum' — something taken out as a specimen. 'Resample' means to take a sample again. The root 'emere' (to take, buy) also gives us 'exemption' (taken out), 'assumption' (taken up), 'consumption' (taken completely), and 'redemption' (bought back). So resampling is literally taking out again.
