excellently

/ˈɛksəɫəntɫi/ adv

In a manner that demonstrates excellence; very well.

Word Origin Excellent comes from Latin excellere 'to rise out, tower above' — ex- 'out' + cellere 'to rise.' So excellently means 'in an outstanding manner.' The same root cellere gives us excel, excellence, and even column (something that rises). The PIE root *kel- also produced hill and culminate.
