courteously

/ˈkɝtiəsli/ adv

In a courteous manner; with obliging civility or condescension; politely.

Word Origin From Latin cohors 'enclosed yard, retinue' — the word court came to mean the sovereign's residence, and courteous originally meant 'having manners fit for a court.' The same root gives us courtesy, courtier, and even cohort (a group, from the same Latin word). Courteously is doing something with courtly grace.
