ambitionless

/æmˈbɪʃənləs/ adj

Without ambition or motivation

Word Origin Ambition comes from Latin ambitio, literally 'going around' — Roman candidates would walk around canvassing for votes. So ambition originally meant the desire for political office, then broadened to any strong desire. Ambitionless means lacking that drive. The root ambi- 'around' also appears in ambidextrous (both hands, literally 'right-handed on both sides') and ambiguous (driving around, uncertain).
