unloader

/ʌnlˈoʊdɚ/ noun

One who or that which unloads.

Word Origin From Old English lād, meaning 'a carrying, a burden' — the same root that gives us load, lode (as in lodestone), and even lead (to guide). Un- reverses it: to unload is to remove the burden. Add -er, and an unloader is someone or something that takes the load off. The root lād also appears in livelihood (the course of life) and loadstar (guiding star).
