studiously

/ˈstudiəsɫi/ adv

In a studious manner.

Word Origin From Latin studium 'zeal, application' — so to study originally meant to apply yourself eagerly. Studiously means 'with that eager application.' The same root gives us student (one who applies zeal) and studio (a place of artistic zeal). The PIE root *(s)teud- meant 'to push, thrust,' so you can almost see the focused effort.
