exhalable

/ɛksˈ(h)eɪləbəl/ adj

Capable of being exhaled or evaporated.

Word Origin From Latin ex- 'out' and halare 'to breathe' — so exhale is literally 'breathe out.' Exhalable is 'able to be breathed out.' The root halare also gives us inhale (breathe in) and halitosis (bad breath). The PIE root *hel- 'to breathe' is behind animate (to give breath) and animal (a breathing creature).
