climatologic

/klˌaɪmæɾəlˈɑdʒɪk/ adj

Of or pertaining to climatology.

Word Origin From Greek klima 'zone, inclination of the sun' and logos 'discourse' — the study of climate zones. The root klima originally referred to the slope of the earth toward the sun, which determined temperature zones. That's why climate is about regional weather patterns. The same root gives us climax (literally 'ladder' or 'peak') and clinic (originally 'bed' from leaning).
