authoritatively

/əˌθɔɹəˈteɪtɪvɫi/ adv

In an authoritative manner; with authority.

Word Origin From Latin auctor 'originator, promoter' (from augere 'to increase') — an author is one who brings something into being, increases it. So authoritatively means in a way that carries the weight of an originator, with authority. The same root augere gives us augment and auction (a sale that increases bids). Authority is the power of the originator.
