unchallengeable

/ʌntʃˈælɪndʒəbəl/ adj

Not open to challenge; indisputable

Word Origin Challenge comes from Latin calumnia 'false accusation, trickery' — originally a legal term for a false claim. Over time, it broadened to mean any call to contest. Unchallengeable adds un- 'not' and -able 'able to be', so literally 'not able to be challenged'. The root calumnia also gives us calumniate (to slander), so a word that started with deceitful accusations now means something so solid it can't be questioned.
