technologic

/ˌtɛknəˈɫɑdʒɪk/ adj

technological

Word Origin From Greek tekhnē 'art, skill' and logos 'study' — literally 'the study of skill.' Technologic describes the systematic knowledge of crafts and techniques. The root tekhnē gives us technical, technique, technician, and technocracy. The PIE root *teks- 'to weave, fabricate' is also in text and textile, so technology is about weaving skill into knowledge. The logos part is the same as in logic, biology, and geology.
