rustically

/ˈɹəstɪkəli/ adv

In a rustic manner.

Word Origin From Latin 'rus' meaning countryside, so rustic originally meant 'of the country.' Rustically is the adverb form, doing something in a simple, rural manner. The same root gives us rusticate (to go to the country) and rusticity (country quality). Even rustler, a cattle thief, comes from the idea of rural life. The PIE root *reuə- also gives us 'room' (open space) — a nice connection.
