prosperously

/ˈpɹɑspɝəsli/ adv

In a prosperous manner; so as to prosper.

Word Origin From Latin pro 'forward' and sperare 'to hope' — literally 'hoping forward'. To prosper is to have things go according to hope. The opposite is despair (de- 'down' + sperare, hope down), and the same root sperare gives us desperate (without hope). So prosperously means doing well, with hope fulfilled.
