unclad

/ʌŋklˈæd/ adj

Without clothing or other covering.

Word Origin Unclad is literally 'not clothed,' from clad, an old past participle of clothe. The root is the same as in clothes and clothing, from Proto-Germanic *klaiþaz 'garment.' Ironclad, by contrast, means 'clad in iron' — a nice opposite. The un- prefix does its usual reversing job.
