sized

/ˈsaɪzd/ adj

Having a certain size. Usually used in combination with an adverb or a noun.

Word Origin Surprisingly, sized comes from Latin sedere 'to sit' — because a 'size' was originally a fixed standard set by a court sitting in judgment. That's why we talk about 'sizing up' something. The same root gives us sedentary, session, and siege (a sitting down before a city).
