knuckled

/ˈnəkəɫd/ adj

Having a certain type of knuckles.

Word Origin 'Knuckle' comes from a root meaning 'to bend' — those joints that bend your fingers. So 'knuckled' means having knuckles, or perhaps having done something with them (like knocking). The same root gives us 'knock' (originally a blow with the knuckles) and 'knucklehead' (a blockhead, as if your head is just knuckles). The PIE root *kneu- also gives us 'knee' — another bending joint.
