sniveled

/snˈɪvəld/ verb

simple past and past participle of snivel

Word Origin From Old English 'snyflan' — to run at the nose, to snivel. It's related to 'snofl' (mucus) and the Proto-Germanic *snufalaz. The PIE root *sneu- meant 'to flow, drip,' also giving us snot and snout. Sniveled means having sniveled, or covered in tears and mucus — you can almost hear the sniffles.
