boilable

/bˈɔɪləbəl/ adj

Capable of, or suitable for, being boiled.

Word Origin Boilable is simply boil (from Latin bullire 'to bubble, seethe') plus -able 'capable of.' Bullire is related to bulla 'bubble,' which gives us bubble, ebullient (bubbling over with enthusiasm), and parboil (partly boil). The PIE root *beu- meant 'to swell,' also giving us bowl and belly. So boilable means suitable for boiling.
